Buhari Influenced The "Not Too Young To Run" Movement - Lauretta

President Muhammadu Buhari's Personal Assistant on Digital/Online Media, Lauretta Onochie, has declared that the president's administration is responsible for the ongoing 'Not Too Young To Run' movement in the country.

The 'Not Too Young To Run' bill seeks to reduce the age limit for those seeking elective positions in the country.
speaking at the Nigerian Television Authority in a recent interview, she said that the president's administration gave youths in the country the confidence to demand for more.
"The president came into politics primarily to look after the poor and vulnerable. The youths can now channel their energy into agriculture through the Anchor Borrowers' Program. In that regards, over 6 million young Nigerians have been empowered through this scheme.
"They are now able to muster themselves together and they began to ask to be given the right and power to run for higher elective offices which we now call Not Too Young To Run. The president provided the environment for it to happen."
The bill has been passed by the national assembly and 34 state houses of Assembly, and Onochie said the president will gladly assent the bill when it's forwarded to Aso Rock.
The bill will alter Sections 65, 106, 131, and 177 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), as it seeks to reduce the age of qualification for the office of the President from 40 to 35 years; Governor from 35 to 30 years; Senate from 35 to 30 years; House of Reps from 30 to 25 years; and the House of Assembly from 30 to 25 years.
Onochie also noted that the only category of Nigerian youths that don't love the president are those that are working for looters who despise what he stands for.
She said, "Most Nigerian youths love the president because they understand that he's there for them. There are quite a few who are the spokespersons and mouthpieces of looters and I'll advice them to tread the path of righteousness. That's what the bible teaches; that's what the quran teaches.
"Whatever you say on the social media, make sure that if in ten years time when it is dug up, it will still stand the test of time."
