Mohamed Salah close to Liverpool switch.

Liverpool is likely to set a joint club record of £35 million for the purchase of Roma's Mohamed Salah. This comes after submitting an improved bid for the 24-year-old.

An intial £28-million offer was reportedly rejected by the Giallorossi a couple of days ago, but an agreement is said to be within sight.

According to the Guardian's Sachin Nakrani, Salah, who is apparently keen on moving to Anfield, would double his wages at £90,000 a week as a member of the Reds.

Phil McNulty of BBC suggested Roma would part ways with the Egypt international if Liverpool proposed somewhere between £35 million and £40 million for the speedy winger.

If the deal goes through, Salah would represent Liverpool's second signing ahead of the 2017 summer transfer market, with Dominic Solanke set to join the club once his contract with Chelsea expires on June 30.

Its a good deal for Roma as the cash could be used to meet UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations.

Salah scored 15 goals and added another 11 assists over the 2016-17 Serie A season - the most prolific campaign of his career.
