APC Rejects Senate Majority Leader
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) maintained its rejection of Senator Ali Ndume (Borno South) as the Majority Leader of the Eighth Senate.
The party also rejected Senator Bala Ibn Na'Allah (Kebbi South) as Deputy Majority Leader and Francis Alimikhena (Edo North) as the Chief Whip.
The ruling party’s National Secretary, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni said the party stood by the list sent by the party to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, the party denounced the fracas that characterized the National Assembly on Thursday.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) strongly condemned what transpired at
both chambers of the National Assembly on Thursday, June 25th 2015. The
party stands by the list sent by the party to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives,” Buni stated.
Buni added that the National Caucus, Board of Trustee (BOT) and National Executive Council (NEC) of the party would meet within the next few days to discuss the developments in the National Assembly.
